Participate in this workshop and discuss challenges that arise and strategies to assist students with disabilities to access the support they need in order to participate in their studies.

SkillsTech Australia is a lead TAFE institute and the largest public provider of trade and technician training in Queensland and Australia. The institute is responsible for the development and delivery of training in key industries including automotive, building and construction, electrical and electronics, manufacturing and engineering, and sustainable technologies. SkillsTech Australia delivers training to people of all ages - from school students through to mature age students. We provide over 120 training programs including school-based programs, pre- and post-apprenticeship training, diplomas, advanced diplomas, licensing and, of course, traineeships and apprenticeships.

The site visit will take in the 20 hectare Acacia Ridge training centre which was purchased in August 2005. SkillsTech is continuing to develop world-class facilities at Acacia Ridge with a view to enhancing education, meeting the challenges of emerging industry needs and addressing skills shortages.
